This seminar brings together current concerns about re-development of a halalan tayyiban concept that integrates not only about the intrinsic content or ingredient of food and non-food products, but also the concept of sustainability and fairly processed and traded products into the existing halal certification concept. The main objectives of the seminar are:

  1. Critically reviewing and questioning the existing concept of halalan tayyiban that perceived by muslim people
  2. Comparing the halalan tayyiban practice in Indonesia (as a representative of largest Muslim country) and European practice
  3. Raising awareness about a new paradigm of halalan tayyiban which incorporates the concept of sustainability and fairness trade during all the processes of production and delivery of halal products as future challenge in halal certification.
